He joined Central CMO in 1987. He currently serves as chairman of the Central Maine Orthopaedics Board of Directors.

Under the direction of Dr. Cain, the Sports Medicine program at CMO, begun in 1987, has grown into a comprehensive center of excellence.

Working in both general and trauma orthopaedics, I see a wide variety of patients, from infants to people in their 90s. Sports medicine is, perhaps, the most satisfying because I completely understand why people want to get back to the activities they enjoy. I have the knowledge and skills to do that, and nothing makes me happier than hearing from a patient that they are back to cycling or skiing or playing golf.”
