- Diagnosis of your injury or disorder
- Treatment, based on your diagnosis, general health, and personal activity goals
- Follow-up plan to provide pain management and optimal mobility
- Prevention and wellness consultation to prevent future injuries and/or slow, or even reverse, the progression of orthopaedic diseases
At CMO, services from diagnoses through recovery care, are all under one roof. CMO offers a combination of convenience and specialized skills that are unmatched anywhere in Maine.
In addition to x-rays and electromyography (EMG), CMO has onsite MRI services provided by Central Maine Imaging — and outpatient laboratory services run at CMO by St. Mary’s Health System. These give our clinicians ready access to diagnostic tools to determine the problem and set a non-surgical or surgical course of treatment.
Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
Advances in medical procedures and technology mean that many surgical procedures can be done on an outpatient basis, with patients going home on the same day. At CMO, we routinely perform minimally invasive-arthroscopic knee, hip and shoulder surgery microscope-aided hand surgery — foot and ankle surgery — fracture care — and spinal injection therapy.
Select Physical Therapy has a working and treatment center on site at CMO. As appropriate, they can help develop a post-surgical program — using their services or by coordinating with another provider— to get you moving and back to everyday activity as soon as possible after your surgery.
Back and neck pain are problems we see frequently. The majority of these can be addressed without surgical intervention. That is why we recommend Maine Spinecare, located at CMO, as a first stop for patients with these spine-related issues.
