Central Maine Orthopaedics recognizes the injured employee as a group with special needs, not un-like an injured athlete.
In doing so, CMO has developed a program dedicated to serving the needs of injured workers which is dedicated to ensuring a safe, quick return to work.
Heesh Hutto, RN, CCM is the nurse at Central Maine Orthopaedics dedicated to making this a reality. Heesh manages a program designed to provide:
- Timely access to appropriate specialists.
- Enhance communication by providing a single point of contact for referral sources, nurse case managers, insurance adjusters and employers.
- Patient advocacy.
Other than her primary role as outlined above, Heesh has met with dozens of employers in the region to build cooperative working relationships through an understanding of local businesses needs.
Central Maine Orthopaedics sponsors a highly successful bi-annual Worker's Comp Conference that is designed to bring together physicians, case managers and employers to build a shared understanding of the goals and challenges of providing care for Maine's injured workers.
