Comprehensive medicine for injured workers and employers

Central Maine Orthopaedics Workers’ Compensation Program combines leading-edge technology with orthopaedic physicians and a dedicated medical assistant experienced in diagnosing and treating work-related injuries.

Physician subspecialties

Our Workers’ Compensation Program is designed to help injured employees quickly return to maximum employment potential. Our physicians, fellowship-trained in subspecialty areas such as trauma; shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand/microvascular surgery; lower extremity; and ankle/foot, provide evaluation and treatment of injured employees in an objective, cost-effective manner.

Customer service

To initiate this process, Central Maine Orthopaedics has a full-time dedicated Workers’ Compensation Coordinator who works with our physicians as a team. Our coordinator will work to assure that initial scheduling is prompt and the process following an injury runs smoothly.

Communication and accessibility

We know how important communication is to the parties involved in a Workers’ Compensation case. As a result, our Workers’ Compensation team is available for assistance and to ensure communication is timely and addresses return-to-work issues. At the time of referral, we will ask for information on the injured employee’s occupation, job demands, work status, and whether or not modified duty is available. This information will assist the provider in being aware of return-to-work options, in addressing work issues, and in returning the injured employee safely back to work as quickly as possible. The Workers’ Compensation Coordinators can provide enhanced accessibility to our physicians by decreasing wait times for appointments.

Ancillary services

Our Workers’ Compensation Program has access to a full complement of ancillary services, including MRI; digital X-ray; physical/occupational therapy, including certified hand therapists; and an outpatient surgery center. We also have access to other specialties such as physiatry and podiatry.
