Schedule an Appointment

You can schedule an initial or follow-up appointment at Central Maine Orthopaedics (CMO) directly or through a referral from your primary care physician. To schedule an appointment with one of our physicians, please call 207.783.1328 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Watch for our new online appointment feature coming soon to this web site.) You can also call this number to make, confirm, or change appointments for cast work or other services as required by your CMO or regular physician.

About your appointment

If it is your first visit to CMO, please plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment and bring the following:

• Medical insurance cards and/or Workers’ Compensation information (employer’s name, insurance adjuster’s name, claim number, and telephone number)
• A photo ID
• A list of current medications you are taking

Please ask your referring physician to forward any related medical records to CMO before your appointment with us.

What to wear

Please wear clothing that is appropriate for your visit — for example, wear shorts if you are having a knee problem, a sleeveless shirt or blouse if your appointment is for your shoulder or elbow.

Insurance and billing

We participate in most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
If you have insurance that requires a referral authorization from your primary care physician, you are responsible for obtaining that authorization prior to your appointment with us.

Payment for co-pays or services not covered by your insurance will be due at the time of the service unless alternative arrangements are made with our outpatient accounts staff. Please contact Patient Services at 207.783.1328.
