Dr. James Timoney is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic problems of the lower extremities, particularly foot and ankle surgery. He also specializes in sports medicine and knee and shoulder arthroscopy. Dr Timoney joined Central Maine Orthopaedics in 1993.
Dr. Timoney directs the Central Maine Orthopaedics Foot and Ankle Program and performs surgery at the Central Maine Orthopaedics Ambulatory Surgery Center, Central Maine Medical Center and St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. Dr. Timoney is on the medical staff of Central Maine Medical Center, St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and courtesy staff at Rumford Hospital and Bridgton Hospital.
He graduated from Rutgers University and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he now serves as a clinical instructor. Along with this role, he serves as a clinical preceptor for the Central Maine Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program.
Dr. Timoney completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. Having been certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Foot and Ankle Society and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
