Dr. Wayne Moody is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement of the adult hip and knee. Dr. Moody is a recognized innovator in the field, helping to design and develop surgical instrument systems. In the recent past, Dr. Moody has conducted training sessions for surgeons around the world in Italy, the Netherlands, Egypt, Spain and China.
As founder of Central Maine Orthopaedics in 1986, Dr. Moody gradually led CMO from a solo physician practice to an 11 physician sub-specialty orthopaedic surgical practice located in a 42,000 sq.ft. facility on Minot Avenue in Auburn. Dr. Moody is on the Medical Staff of Central Maine Medical Center, St. Mary's Regional Medical Center and courtesy staff at Rumford Hospital and Bridgton Hospital. He performs surgery at Central Maine Medical Center, the Central Maine Orthopaedics Ambulatory Surgery Center and St. Mary's Center for Joint Replacement where he is also the Medical Director.
After completing an undergraduate degree from Providence College and a graduate degree from New York Medical College, Dr. Moody completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Brown University. During his Orthopaedic Residency he completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the University of Washington.
Dr. Moody, having been certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Maine Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Maine Medical Association and the Androscoggin County Medical Society.
