The Nurse Practitioner position at Central Maine Orthopaedics (CMO) is centered around supporting our surgical practice. Primary responsibilities will involve hospital roundings, consults, discharges, and surgical assisting, if certified.
Minimum call is required. Clinic duties will involve pre-operative work-up, post- operative follow-up, triage and injections.
Specialties encompassed by CMO include:
Total Joint Replacement program
Foot and lower extremity surgery
Hand Program
Sports Medicine
Spine surgery
Trauma
General Orthopaedic and fracture management
Ambulatory Surgery Center

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated clinical competence in a relevant area of practice, preferably Orthopaedics. He or she will possess a thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, with particular knowledge of the musculoskeletal system. Current knowledge of medications and their effects on the body is essential.
A high degree of confidentiality is essential.
This position calls for a strong commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service with the ability to work independently, quickly and accurately in a busy, fast-paced medical practice.
Education Requirements:
*Graduate of an accredited school with a degree as a Nurse Practitioner, Orthopaedic experience preferred;
*NP with NP and RN Maine licensure;
*DEA licensure;
*Certification by AANCC, preferred;
*BCLS, REQUIRED;
*ACLS, REQUIRED;
*1st Assist certification, preferred
